Being a professional DJ is not just about a lucky break: you need to work hard to get there and be persistent. In addition, you need to appeal to the audience with a great brand.

Avicii, for example, borrowed his famous stage name from the lowest level of hell according to Buddhism.

Boards of Canada, on the other hand, were inspired by creating music through VHS recorders and watching a lot of documentaries by the National Film Board of Canada in their spare time.

DJ Mustard had it simple, as his real life name is Dijon.
